Recently I have watched the movie called "The DUFF." Now mostly everybody knows what that means but just to clear it up it means "Designated. Ugly. Fat. Friend." I have never been so called fat or actually ugly but you don't have to be to be a DUFF. Basically a DUFF is a left out friend or a friend that simply is not treated the same as the others. I have been in a situation such as this. In fifth grade I met this girl. I was at a new school and i knew no one. She had a best friend before me and soon enough we were a threesome. Three of the most popular girls in school. I know this sounds ideal but trust me. Friend groups of three are the worst situation to be in. There is always that time that one girl always gets left out. I so happened to be that girl. There is always a leader in the pack. When you're alone with the leader she treats you special and you feel important and at the time, all of the pain of being left out seems to be worth it. Trust me, a girl that went through this for three years, it is not. It took me three years to realize that. In eighth grade a situation happened with a boy I liked and I ended things with her and we drifted apart. I can say that I have found a best friend that treats me like an equal to her and loves me like a sister and I can live my life with so much more happiness. So, if you are a girl that gets left out, used or judged by your friends, they are the wrong friends for you and you deserve so much better. Stick up for yourself and don't let others turn you into a DUFF.
